Notes for Josephine “Josie” Brady
Josie is the daughter of John A. Brady. Her death certificate states that her father is John A. Brady born in Rowan County. I can find no other John A. Brady of appropriate age in Rowan County. There are two problems, the 1880 census and the birthdates of Josie and John T.
John’s first wife, Leah Stoner, died in 1886, and in 1888 John married Mary Roseman. John and Mary are buried at Chestnut Hill as is Josie. Of course Leah is buried at St Matthew’s as expected. So John moved to Salisbury sometime after Leah died.
Josie’s sister, Fanny, is also missing from the 1880 census, and Amanda, whom I cannot find mentioned elsewhere, is listed.
