Hazel Efird Goodman
Mrs. Hazel Efird Goodman, 81 of Salisbury, NC passed away on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013 at Genesis Healthcare of Salisbury. Hazel was born Dec. 11, 1931 in Rowan County the daughter of the late Delta Efird and Ida Herlocker Efird.
Hazel was educated in the Shaver School, was of the Baptist faith, a member of Phaniel's Baptist Church, worked in the textile industry and was a homemaker. She enjoyed, gardening, flowers and working crossword puzzles.
In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Lee McNairy Goodman on August 24, 1997 and five sisters and three brothers.
Survivors: son, Jimmie Efird and wife Deborah of Rockwell, daughter Shirley Herion-Fairchild and husband Dale, son, Danny Goodman of Salisbury, sister, Betty Love and husband, Robert of Rockwell, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at Powles Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013 at the Powles Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Charles Carver, Pastor of West Park Baptist Church and Rev. Billy Sechrist, Associate Pastor.
Burial: Brookhill Memorial Gardens, Rockwell.
