Jewel “Bunky” Morgan
OAKBORO - Jewel "Bunky" Beatrice Almond Morgan, 75, of 20490 Austin Road, Oakboro, died Sunday, July 27, 2008, at Levine Dickson Hospice House. There will be a memorial service Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Jim and Annette Morton, at 20432 Austin Road, Oakboro, with the Rev. Tab Whitley officiating. Visitation will follow the memorial service.
Mrs. Morgan was born Feb. 12, 1933, in Stanly County, the daughter of the late Richard Cleveland Almond and the late Gracie Alvie (Hatley) Almond. She had been employed as a seamstress at B&D Hosiery. She enjoyed being a homemaker and grandmother and was a member of Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Loyd Almond and Edward "Eb" Almond.
Survivors include her husband of 55 wonderful years, Ken Morgan of Albemarle; son, Kenneth Bowers Morgan Jr. of Charlotte; brothers, Hoye Almond and Eugene Almond both of Mount Pleasant; sister, Ruth Hill of Mount Pleasant; grandchildren, Griffin, Seth and Ty Morgan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
