Bertie Lee Little Lanier
Bertie Lee Little Lanier, 79, of Mt. Zion Church Road, Norwood, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at Spring Arbor in Albemarle.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, where she will lie in-state for 30 minutes prior to the service. The Rev. David Hatley and Rev. Mike Shuford will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Lanier was born March 16, 1930, in Stanly County, a daughter of the late Lee and Ruth Frick Little.
She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and retired from Collins and Aikman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Julian Lanier.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Eury and husband, Clarence, of Concord and Lisa Mabry and husband, Phillip, of Norwood; a son, James Lee Lanier and wife, Janet, of New Bern; a brother, Robert Little of Albemarle; five sisters, Lilly Faye Smith of Norwood, Aileen Edwards of Norwood, Margie Drye of Concord, Sue Hathcock of Locust and Frances Thompson of Mt. Holly; six grandchildren, Brad Fesperman, BreAnn Wallace, Mary Mabry, Brian and Serenity Mabry, Dennis and Laura Mabry, Angie and Josh Smith; four great-grandchildren, McKensie, Adriann and Hunter Fesperman, Aliye Mabry; two stepgrandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
Memorials to: Hospice of Stanly County, or to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
