Betty (Almond) Kennedy

Mrs. Betty Lou (Almond) Kennedy died peacefully at her home on January 24th, 2019 in Harrisburg NC at the age of 85 with her family by her side.

Betty was born on June 8,1933 in Albemarle NC to the late Grover Wilson Almond and Ina Hahn Almond.  She lived in the Charlotte area most of her life and was a homemaker until her youngest child started school.  At that time, she went to work for City National Bank and retired from BB&T Bank as a mortgage loan processor.  Betty was always known as the life of the party.  She was happiest when she was surrounded by her family.  One of her favorite things to do was to go to Harrah’s Casino in Cherokee NC.   Her last wish was to go to Cherokee with her family.  That wish was fulfilled two weeks before her passing.  
 
Betty is survived by her children, Donna K Dulin (Danny) of Oak Island, NC, Diane K Canup (Johnny) of Denver, NC, Denise K Romero (Bill) of Mount Holly, NC, five grandchildren, Adam L Williams (Jennifer), J. Marcus Williams, Jennifer M Riale, Jessica B Bridges (Ryan) and Brandon J Romero.  She also had 11 great-grandchildren, Noah Williams, Elijah Williams, Holden Warner, Cole Williams, Laney Williams, Caylah Riale, Joey Riale, Faith Bridges, Felicity Bridges, Freddie Bridges, Fionna Bridges, and one great-great-grandchild Brayden Burton.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, James Ray Kennedy, her daughter Pamela Rae Kennedy, her twin sister Janette A Alridge and sister Susan A Batten.
 
The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM, on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Harrisburg, NC.  Chaplain Jennifer Cormier will deliver a Eulogy at 7 PM. during the visitation.  
 
The family has requested that donations be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region.
