William Gaston "Bill" Rowland, 70, of 32563 Rowland Road passed away on Dec. 25, 2009 at his home. He was a loom technician for Fieldcrest Cannon in Kannapolis.
Born in Stanly County on December 13, 1939, he was the son of the late Fred Anderson Rowland and the late Mary Lou Harwood Rowland.
He is survived by his wife Jo Nell Simmons Rowland of the home; sons, William Ruford Rowland and Tommy Daniel Rowland; stepson, Timothy Wayne Wyatt, Sr. and stepdaughter, Pamela Kay Furr, both of Albemarle; brother, Lane Odell Rowland of Kannapolis; sisters, Jewell Love of Locust and Zelma Smith of Albemarle; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren also survive.
The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle, on Sunday, Dec. 27, from 6-8 p.m. His funeral will be Monday, December 28 at 11 a.m. Salem United Methodist Church, with a 30-minute state. Rev. Mike McClellan and Rev. Rick Seymour will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will meet at his home, 32563 Rowland Road.
Memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church.
