Mary Frances Furr

Mary Frances Ingram Furr, 87 of Albemarle, NC, passed away November 24, 2023 at Spring Arbor. Her Celebration of Life service will be at 11am Saturday December 2 at Stony Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Kaye Fry officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service with private burial to follow.

Frances was born August 9, 1936 in Stanly County, NC and was the daughter of the late Henry Clair Ingram and Lilly Floy Ingram. Mrs. Furr was a Homemaker and spent many years as a dedicated volunteer of Badin Elementary School. Frances loved her church and her church family at Stony Hill United Methodist Church. Mrs. Furr was also a dedicated Cub Scout leader for 35 years and was a Silver Beaver award recipient.

Mrs. Furr was proceeded in death by her husband of 63 years, Roland Anthony Furr. She is survived by two sons, Arthur Lee Furr of Troy, NC and Henry Cornelius Furr (Tonya) of Ringgold, GA; daughter Audrey Lynn Furr Lowder (Jamie) of Norwood, NC; a sister Kay Ingram Mills of Albemarle, NC; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Frances is preceded in death by a son Anthony Wayne Furr.

Frances loved decorating for any and all occasions; especially Christmas. Her entire life was spent as a nurturer, and she dearly loved her children and grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Spring Arbor for their love and compassion. Frances enjoyed her time there making new friends, crafting, and going on outings.

Memorials may be made to Stony Hill United Methodist Church, 28401 Valley Drive, Albemarle, or Tillery Compassionate Care at 960 N 1st St, Albemarle.
