Lottie Holshouser Kepley

FAITH - Lottie Holshouser Kepley, 91, of Faith, passed away Monday, May 12, 2008, at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

Mrs. Kepley was born June 9, 1916, in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Pleasant Columbus and Ollie Loudare Josephine Jones Holshouser. Lottie was educated at Faith School, was a member of Faith Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, cooking and growing flowers at her home.

Mrs. Kepley's greatest joy was her children and grandchildren, whom she took great pride in and worked hard to provide for all of her life.

In addition to her parents, Lottie was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Atwell "Blue" Kepley, on April 3, 1984. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include her son, Philip Lane Kepley and wife Evangelina (Evie) of Salisbury; daughter Judy Kepley of Charleston, S.C.; grandchildren Philip Lane Kepley Jr. and wife Sherry of Rockwell, Sean Gregory Kepley and wife Rebecca of Clayton, Karen Michelle Collins and husband Brian of Faith, Lisa Perry and husband Brian of Salisbury, Michael Haynes of Rockwell, Julie Dare Sweat and husband Mark of Charleston, Hal Cooke Jr. of Winston-Salem, Melissa Martino and husband Pedro of Greenville, S.C., and Katherine Finklea and husband Terry of Columbus, Ohio. Lottie is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Service: The funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 14 at Faith Baptist Church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Joe Smith, pastor, and the Rev. Gray Holshouser officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at Powles Funeral Home Tuesday May 13, from 6-8 p.m.
