Bill Misenheimer

SALISBURY - W.W. Husking "Bill" Misenheimer, 87, passed away Friday, March 28, 2008, at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Misenheimer was born March 13, 1921 in Rowan County. He was the son of the late Delmar Misenheimer and Carrie Trexler Misenheimer.

He was educated in the Rowan County schools and graduated from Rockwell High School. He was owner and operator of Liberty Feed and Seed for over 60 years.

Bill was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army-Air Force and was a gunner aboard an A-26 invader. A founding member of Liberty Volunteer Fire Department, he served as Chief for 30 years. His unselfish devotion and tireless effort on behalf of the Department was an inspiration to many. He spent a lifetime serving and striving for the betterment of the Liberty Community.

Survivors include; his wife, Mrs. Mildred Baity Misenheimer whom he married November 2, 1967; one son, Terry Misenheimer and wife Kim of Mitchellville, Iowa.; four daughters, Lisa Misenheimer Trexler and husband Darrin of Salisbury, Billie Misenheimer Watson - Beaver and husband Dean of Rockwell, Sue Misenheimer Carter and Melva Misenheimer Kimmer and husband Hurley of Salisbury; two brothers, D. L. (Sam) Misenheimer of Gold Hill and Leo Misenheimer of Hanahan, S.C.; one sister, Phoebe M. Lakey of Mocksville; two stepchildren, Jim Ketchie and wife Shirley of Salisbury and Elaine Ketchie Eller of Gold Hill; 12 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren.

Funeral: Will be held at 11 a.m., Monday at Liberty Volunteer Fire Department, conducted by the Rev. Bruce Sheeks, Pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Firefighters will be seated as a group during the funeral service. Firefighters Funeral Honors will be conducted at St. Matthews Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends at Liberty Volunteer Fire Department from 5-8 p.m., Sunday.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Liberty Volunteer Fire Department.
