John Adam Fesperman

SALISBURY - John Adam Fesperman, 89, of Salisbury, passed away on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 at the V.A. Medical Center in Salisbury.

Born on April 22, 1923 in Rowan County, he was the son of the late James Wiley and Maggie Foutz Fesperman.

Educated in the Rowan County Schools, he was a longtime member of Organ Lutheran Church. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, and had since then made many trips to join his military friends for reunions. Mr. Fesperman retired from Cannon Mills after 45 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and farming.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Hallie Barger Fesperman, on May 24, 2010.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Sue Rodgers (Larry) and Sylvia Bryan (David), both of Salisbury; brothers, J.W. Fesperman Jr. (Ruth) of Kannapolis and Ray Fesperman (Fran) of Salisbury; sisters, Velma Teddar of Statesville and Bonnie Sutton of Wisconsin. He also was survived by four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation and Services: Visitation will be on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in Landis, The funeral will be held on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Organ Lutheran Church, with Rev. Carlin Ours, minister, officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to Organ Lutheran Church.
