Hugh Cline "Buddy" Patterson

Hugh Cline "Buddy" Patterson, 85, of Salisbury, passed away Monday, September 24, 2018.

He was born April 28, 1933, in China Grove to the late Otho and Ruth Cline Patterson. Mr. Patterson was a 1951 graduate of Landis High School and later attended Business College in Charlotte. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Patterson served his country from 1951 to 1955. He retired in 1992 from Fieldcrest Cannon Plant No.1 where he was a Supervisor of the Sewing Room.

A member of Faith Lutheran Church, he assisted with delivering Meals on Wheels, was active in the Chapel Service, and previously served on Church Council. Mr. Patterson was a former member of Faith Civitan Club where he served as president and Faith American Legion Post No. 327.

He loved to play softball and baseball, work in his garden, ride his tractor, hunt and fish, but especially loved his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Patterson was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Miller Patterson; sisters, Bernice Patterson, Faye Sartin, Grace Aldridge, and Marjorie Moffitt; and brother, Claude Patterson.

He is survived by his four daughters, Sharon Wyrick (Mike) of Gold Hill, Debbie Snider (Lonnie) of Lexington, Donna Drye of Salisbury, Jody Kluttz (Jeff) of Rockwell; seven grandchildren, Chris Snider, Jill Kadel, Wendy Cook, Taylor Kluttz, Lyndsay Kluttz, Caleb Drye, and Carson Drye; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and his cat, Martha.

The family will greet friends and relatives on Friday, September 28, 2018, 2:30 pm - 3:45 pm in the Family Life Center at Faith Lutheran Church, Faith, NC.

The funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, September 28, in Faith Lutheran Church with Rev. Randy Drafts and Rev. Mike Shoaf officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Graveside Rites provided by the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard.
