Barbara Eagle
Barbara Eagle, age 88, known to her family and friends as Honey, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2016.
Left to carry on her legacy are her daughter, Stephanie, and son, Richard, both residing in the Albuquerque area. Her beloved grandchildren are Jon Withers, Leah Mortenson (Brett), Ian Eagle and Zac Eagle and great-grandchildren, Jonah and Phoebe.
Barbara was born in Charleroi, PA to Stephan and Barbara Blasko on September 25, 1928. Barbara was the youngest daughter of eight siblings. After graduating from California State Teachers College in California, PA, she taught in Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Denver.
Barbara married Richard Eagle in 1955 and resided in Albuquerque for the rest of her life.
Richard passed away suddenly in 1994.
Barbara's talents included playing bridge, gardening, sewing and cooking special dishes for her grandchildren. Barbara enjoyed traveling, family gatherings and white wine with ice cubes.
A special thank you to her caregivers who allowed her to live in her home.
A lifelong Catholic, a Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at John XXIII Catholic Church, 4831 Tramway Ridge Dr. NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.
