Irene Sifferman, 90 of Republic, passed away February 22, 2006, in Sonshine Manor, Republic. She was born November 15, 1915, in Polk County, near Fair Play, MO, to John and Sarah (Copeland) Vermillion.
She was married to Elmer Sifferman June 6, 1942. Together, they spent 36.5 years near Republic.
Irene was a cosmetologist for many years before retirement in 1977.
She was of the Methodist faith and a member of the former College Hill Church in Polk County.
Her husband, parents, and five sisters preceded her in death.
Her survivors include three nieces, Anna "Beth" Ferreira, Earleen Shalz, of Springfield, MO; and Hilda Lee Smith of Cincinnati, OH; one nephew, John Hamby and wife, Mary, of Columbia, MO; several great-nieces and great-nephews; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be February 27, 2006, in Meadors Funeral Home, Republic, with Stanley White officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Prairie Cemetery, Halltown.
