Keith Douglas Almond Sr. 75 of Norwood died Sunday Morning, March 13, 2016 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Porter Baptist Church. Dr. Kinney Wallace, Rev. Flynn Richardson and Rev. Nathan Fox will officiate and interment will follow in Norview Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Tuesday Evening at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.
Mr. Almond was born November 5, 1940 in Stanly County to the late Clyde Davis and Mina Lee Kimery Almond. He was a retired co-owner of Stanly Fixtures with 49 years of service. He was a member of Porter Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Vicky Morton Almond of the home. His Children, Misty Almond Staton and husband Gene and Douglas Almond Jr. all of Norwood, Junior Almond of Millingport, Phillip Almond and wife Debbie of Albemarle and Angela Almond Whitaker and husband Keith of Albemarle. Two brothers, Darrell Almond and wife Judy of Norwood and Butch Almond and wife Teresa of Endy. Nine Grandchildren, Carmen Staton Tucker, Molly Staton, Jodie Almond Parker, Brandon Whitaker, Cody Whitaker, Amanda Almond, Dakota Almond, Jesson Keifer Almond and Tesla Cheyenne Almond. Two Great Grandchildren, Landrie and Jax Parker.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Bennie Glosson Almond and two brothers, Jerry Almond and Clyde “Shorty” Almond Jr.
