Joyce Chamberlain Ludwig

Joyce Chamberlain Ludwig, 78, of Rockwell passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Autumn Care of Salisbury. Mrs. Ludwig was born on December 2, 1936 in Mooresville a daughter of the late Mary Lyda Hendren and Arthur Dewey Chamberlain.

Mrs. Ludwig was educated in the Rowan County Schools, had worked at Rowan Industries and retired from Rowan Regional Medical Center. She was of the Baptist Faith, enjoyed reading and watching sports and loved being with family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin James Ludwig, and son Darrell Eugene Hartman.

Survivors include daughters, Sandy Hartman Creswell and husband David of Salisbury, and Sherry Ludwig Kepley and husband Lane of Salisbury; brother Arnold Chamberlain and wife, Jean of Salisbury; sisters, Phyllis Miller and husband, Hayden of Salisbury and Elsie Threatt of Winston-Salem; 6 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren and brother-in-law, Joe Phifer of Monroe.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 11:00 Am till 12:00 Noon on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Powles Funeral Home.

Service: Graveside Services will be conducted after the visitation at Rowan Memorial Park by Rev. John Houghton, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Glenn Kiser Hospice House, Salisbury, NC.

Powles Funeral Home is assisting the Ludwig family.
