Martin "Marty" Adam Lambert

CHARLOTTE - Martin "Marty" Adam Lambert, age 79, of the Oakdale Community in Charlotte passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013. Funeral services will be at 6:00PM Sunday at Sunset Road Baptist Church, Reverend Steve Bass officiating. Visitation will be at the church following the service. Burial will be at 11:00AM Monday in Forest Lawn West Cemetery with Masonic Rites.

Marty was born December 29, 1933 in Stanly County son of the late Virgil Jerome Lambert, Sr. and Cora Bell Whitley Lambert, was a member of Sunset Road Baptist where he had served as a deacon and member of the #4 Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World, Long Creek Masonic Lodge #205, had served in the US Army, was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, was an American Red Cross Volunteer and had owned and operated Marty's Barber Shop in Oakdale 45 years.

Surviving are his wife, Kaye Harward Lambert, children, Lisa Thompson and husband, David of Denver, NC, Kelley Stines and husband, Allen of Marshall, NC, Cora Richards and husband, Jimmy of Round Rock, Texas, grandchildren, Dallas Sinclair, Jeremy Thompson, Casey Thompson, Ray Stines, Sophie Stines, Allison Villarreal, Caitlyn Villarreal and Daniel Villarreal, Jr., sister, Margaret Smith of Locust, NC, brothers, Odell Lambert of Albemarle, NC, John "J. B." Lambert, Lentz Lambert both of Locust, NC and Richard Lambert of Albemarle, NC.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Virgil "June" Lambert, Jr.

Deacons of the church and Ray Stines will serve as pallbearers.
