Charlie Odell Lambert, 86 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, February 26, 2016 at Bethany Woods Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Albemarle.
Mr.Lambert was born February 3, 1930 in North Carolina to the late Virgil Lambert Sr. and the late Cora Lambert. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Shirley Smith Lambert, two brothers, Martin (Marty) and Virgil (June) Lambert, Jr.,
Charlie was a retired truck driver that loved to garden and spend time with his grandchildren. He refused to miss a family reunion and will be remembered as a loving brother, father, and grandfather.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home-Albemarle. The funeral service will be held on Monday at 2:00 pm at Immanuel Baptist Church, Albemarle officiated by Rev. Joe Smith. Burial will follow at the Running Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery at 24671 Millingport Road., Locust.
Survivors include: daughters, Lynn Tobias of Albemarle, Gayle Rushing and husband Lane of Raleigh, grandchildren, Michele (Terry) Crowe, Ginger (Tracy) Parker, Derek (Jeri) Burleson, 7 great-grandchildren, brothers, Richard, Lentz, and J.B. Lambert, and sister Margaret Smith.
Memorials may be made to Community Homecare and Hospice, Troy, NC.
