Alice Fay Baker Cobb

Mrs. Alice Fay Baker Cobb, 82, of Salisbury, passed on to her new life with Christ our Lord on Saturday, February 25, 2023, after a short illness. She was born in Spencer, NC on May 11, 1940, to the late Charlie Mike “Buddy” Baker and the late Lucille Eagle Baker. Alice knew the importance of the love of God and of hard work, loyalty and commitment to her family and friends. She delighted in the lives of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, with whom she shared a special bond.

Alice worked for the telephone company of Portsmouth, Virginia as a long-distance operator and then after graduating from Salisbury Business College she worked for the Scottish Bank of Salisbury, NC. She then moved on to being a bookkeeper for Oestreicher’s Clothing Store in Salisbury. Alice also worked for Revco, Kmart and Wachovia Bank. She worked for Mark Drug Company of Salisbury and retired from Innes Street Drug in November 2006. Alice loved her work and she loved to talk and visit with her customers on a daily basis while taking payments for AT&T Telephone Company.

Alice was a blessing to her family and friends. She trusted in her Lord and Savior to give her strength for everyday and was always faithful. She enjoyed gardening, cross-stitching, knitting, cooking and reading the Word of God every day. Alice enjoyed the fellowship with her friends at The Arbor United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her brother Richard Todd Baker and sister Mary Ruth Baker Brown.

Survivors include her husband Dale L. Cobb whom she married October 3, 1959, and her three sons Jeffery Dale Cobb (Susan) of Woodleaf, Richard Todd Cobb (Donna) of Faith and Kenneth Michael Cobb (LeAnn) of Lexington.
