Mary “Louise” Eagle

Mary Louise Alexander Eagle 94, of Rockwell passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2015. Louise was born on November 5, 1920 in Mecklenburg County, a daughter of the late James T and Polly Garrison Alexander.

Louie was a nurse's aid at the W.G. Hefner VA Medical Center where she retired after 31 years.

Louise was a member of Gold Hill Wesleyan Church. Louise enjoyed reading, baking and knitting. Her family was very important, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Louise is preceded in death by her husband, Moody Van Eagle; a son, Jerry Richard Eagle; grandson, Andy Eagle; great grandson, Cody Ludwick; and sisters, Janie Gibson and Edna Drye.

Louise is survived by her children, Glenn Torrence Eagle of Salisbury, David Eagle and wife Linda of Rockwell; and Sue Ann Pierce and husband Randall of Harrisburg; daughter in law, Gunda Starnes and husband Jim of Salisbury; brother, James T. Alexander, Jr.; sister, Dorothy Hodges. Louise is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Gold Hill Wesleyan Church from 2:30 – 4:00 pm.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd at 4:00 PM at Gold Hill Wesleyan Church conducted by Rev. Phillip Martin, Pastor and Rev. Mark Lowman.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care, Nurse, Michelle Carpenter, and caregivers, Jackie & Phyllis.
