Virginia Frick Drinnon

Virginia Frick Drinnon, 92, passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 at The Oaks of Mayview Convalescent Center in Raleigh, N.C.

Virginia was born in Stanly County, December 27, 1919. She was the daughter of the late Moses A. Frick and Mamie Laughlin Frick. She retired from Wiscassett Mills where she worked for over 44 years and attended Grace Baptist Church until her health prevented her from attending.

She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer Drinnon; her parents Moses A Frick and Mamie Laughlin Frick; her sister, Ruby Frick Cole; and her brother, James W. Frick.

She is survived by her sister, Betty Frick Austin and brother-in-law Ted. D Austin of Wake Forest, NC; sisters-in-law Trudy Ross Frick of Charlotte, NC and Juanita Drinnon of Tennessee; special nephews Eugene Coley and wife Marion of Plano TX, Larry Frick and wife Beth of Charlotte, NC, David Frick and wife Lucia of Rock Hill, SC, Mark Austin and wife Cathy of Aiken, SC, Todd Austin and wife Charla of Cary, NC and a loving, caring niece Denise Austin Rogers and husband Wayne W. Rogers of Wake Forest, NC and four great nieces, five great nephews, one great, great niece and two great, great nephews.

Virginia celebrated her 92th birthday surrounded by her loving family on December 27, 2011.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 27, 2012, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle, NC. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel. The burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory.

The family would like to thank Nurse Amy Melton and CNA’s, Savannah, Lynda, Brenda, and the entire staff of Hall #3 at Mayview for your kindness and devotion shown to Virginia while she was ill. We also wish to thank Hospice of Wake County and Mrs. June Johnston, a Hospice of Wake County volunteer, who rendered services to Virginia.

Memorials donations may be made to Meals On Wheels of Stanly County, or Hospice of Wake County.
