STOW -- Mattie Lou Woodrum, 89, died November 10, 2010.
Born in Akron on August 15, 1921, she lived at Silver Lake Towers for the past 11 years.
Preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Onnie Trexler and brothers, Wilford “Bill” and Rayford Trexler; she is survived by her children, Walter (Alice) Woodrum, Diane (Richard) Hawthorne, Susan (Richard) Phillips and Joan Murphy; grandchildren, Shanan, Amanda, Megan, Melissa, Joanna, Ian, Aaron, Stephen, Michael and Paul; five great-grandchildren, Lennon, Dylan, Starre, Brandon and Devin; sister, Lois (Phil) Lewis; several nephews and one niece.
At Mattie's request, there are no public calling hours and her ashes will be spread by her children in her beloved mountains of North Carolina.
The children wish to express a special thanks to the Palliative Care Unit of City Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Palliative Care Unit may be made to: Summa Foundation, Akron, OH, Attn: Palliative Care Unit and Hospice.
