Marnie Ramseur

Mrs. Marnie Delle Eagle Ramseur, 99, of Landis, passed away peacefully and went to be with her heavenly father, Jan. 9, 2016, at her daughter's home in Hazard, Ky.

Marnie was born May 9, 1916, in Gold Hill, daughter of the late Adolphus Grant Eagle and Nancy Morgan Eagle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin L. Ramseur Sr., who was a teacher at Landis and South Rowan high schools; and infant son Milton Charles Ramseur.

In addition, she was predeceased by her siblings, Roy Eagle, Mae Eagle, Ola Ramseur, Bessie Eller Beulah Swanner and Jennie Turner.

Marnie retired from Cannon Mills Co. Sheet Department after 42 years of service. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Landis as long as her health permitted. She loved working in her rose gardens and she was known for her beautiful arrangements that she gave to her church and friends. She was a member of the Salisbury-Rowan Rose Society. She spent her life loving, serving and caring for others, including her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her son, Melvin L. (Sonny) Ramseur Jr. and wife Rebecca of Kannapolis; her daughter, Brenda R. Combs of Hazard, Ky.; five grandchildren, Todd Ramseur (Mimi), Tim Ramseur (Marie), Remel R. Waters (Eddie), Susan R. Holliday (Bobby) and Marnie Virginia A. Spare (Bobby). Also surviving her are her great-grandchildren, Alisha (Paul), Jared (Heather), Dustin (Taylor), Mason, Grayden, Sienna, Cassi, Kevin, Tate, A.J., Tori and Sarah. Great-great-grandchildren are Breanna, Makalyn, Jaden, Ella, Willow and Ellie Bree.

Arrangements: Visitation is Sunday from 2-3 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Landis, with funeral at 3 p.m. also at Trinity Lutheran conducted by Pastor Jarrod Lanning. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in China Grove.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Landis, NC.
