Clifton Vation "C.V." Adams

Clifton Vation "C.V." Adams, 88, of Rockwell, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury, NC. He was born on December 13, 1927 to the late Lake and Diana Fraley Adams in Stanly County, NC. C.V. was educated in the Stanly County School System. C.V. retired from Cannon Mills after 36 years as the Department Manager of the Sheet Metal Department. He was a member of Rockwell United Methodist Church, and the Golden Rule Sunday School Class. C.V. was a Master Mason and member of the Keller Memorial Masonic Lodge #657 for 67 years. C.V. enjoyed going to the beach with his wife Nita.

C.V. is survived by his Wife of over 21 years, Nita Ann Adams, whom he married February 19, 1995; Daughter, Delores File and husband Ronald of Rockwell; Three Sons, Rick Adams and wife Lou Ann of Salisbury, Donald Adams and wife Cathy of Rockwell and Bob Adams and wife Belinda of Salisbury; Four Grandsons, Chris File and wife Sarah, Jonathan Adams and wife Whitney, Christopher Barnhardt, and Joshua Dunaway; Four Granddaughters, Jennifer Adams-Delph and husband Kevin, Kim Morgan and husband Scott, Amber Crucian and husband Kevin, and Madison Barnhardt; Seven Great-grandsons, Andrew, Jake, Mac, Hudson, Brennan, Matthew and Jacob; Two Great-granddaughters, Paige and Riley; Two Sisters, Novillian Koontz of Rockwell and Peggy Hammonds of Kannapolis; Special Niece, Diane Moore; Step-Daughter, Jill Gaunt and husband John; and many Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 20th from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 20th at 2;00 pm the Powles Staton Funeral Home Chapel, Rockwell, NC, with Rev. Charles Curtis, officiating. Entombment will follow in the Brookhill Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

The family would like to thank the staff of Liberty Commons of Salisbury, the Brian Center of Salisbury, and the nurses and doctors at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center for the care and love the they showed to Clifton and our family. Words cannot express our gratitude and appreciation for all that they did to make his stay as comfortable and as pleasant as possible.

In lieu of flowers memorials in memory of C.V. may be made to Rockwell United Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
