Novillian Adams Koontz
Novillian Adams Koontz, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother went home to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 7:39am.
She was born in Stanly County on February 10, 1929 to the late Clifton Lake Adams and Diana Fraley Adams.
Novillian was saved and loved to serve the Lord. She attended Sloan Lake Community Church. She had a great sense of humor and loved the fellowship of family and friends. Mrs. Koontz was humble and enjoyed the simple things in life. Her greatest blessing was first a Christian and then a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to sing in the church choir and traveling with her friends and family.
Novillian was also a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed caring for her family, especially cooking their favorite meals, cakes, and pies.
After declining health, Novillian made her home with her daughter, Diane Moore and husband, Bobby Moore. Then she made her home with her daughter, Lori Bridges and husband Wayne Bridges and she received very good care, was happy, felt at home, and was comfortable.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, William Harrison “Bill” Koontz; brother, C.V. Adams.
Mrs. Koontz is survived by her three children: daughter Lori Bridges and husband, Wayne of Rockwell; son, Billy Koontz and wife, Holly of Rockwell; and daughter, Diane Moore and husband, Bobby of Rockwell; sister, Peggy Hammond; grandchildren, Adam, Brandon and wife, Kayla, Anthony, Jason and wife, Brandy, Heather, Eric and wife, Lori, and Robbie; great-grandchildren, Keaton, Ella, Talon, Blake, Courtney, and Brittany; and step-grandchildren, Alan, Aaron, Beth, and Sarah.
The family will greet friends and relatives from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, May 5, at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 6, in the chapel of Powles Staton Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Zachary Sizemore, pastor of Sloan Lake Community Church. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens in Rockwell.
