Ronald Wade Bankett, age 74, of Salisbury passed away Saturday, December 5, 2015 at The Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks.
Mr. Bankett was born December 15, 1940 in Salisbury, the son of the late Blanche Julia Leonard Bankett and Fred Wade Bankett. He was a graduate of Boyden High School and attended Clemson University and was a graduate of Pfeiffer University. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force and worked as a technical writer, a tv cameraman, and studied art with the Wyeths and worked at the Flat Rock Theater. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was his brother Charles Leonard Bankett.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of more than thirty years Gail Compton Bankett; daughter Danette Barfield (James) of Salisbury; granddaughter Heather Barfield.
Visitation: 4-6:00 PM Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Summersett Funeral Home.
Service: 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church of Salisbury conducted by Dr. Jim Dunkin and Dr. Randy Kirby. The family will receive friends following service in Lewis Hall.
A private burial will be held prior to service.
The family would like to thank the Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks for their loving care of Mr. Bankett.
