Wayne Lee Barringer

Wayne Lee Barringer, 74, of 2310 W. Main St. Albemarle, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at Britthaven of Piedmont, of Albemarle. 

He was born Oct. 6, 1934, in Stanly County. He was the son of the late Cullvan Barringer and the late Lotha Ellen (Dunn) Barringer. 

He was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Lucille B. Lowder, Ralph B. Barringer, Pauline B. Hinson, Helen B. Hathcock, Vann Barringer, Lloyd F. Barringer, Sr., Sue B. Russell, P. Ray Barringer, Patty F. Barringer. 

He is survived by his wife, Johnsie Kellece (Allman) Barringer of Albemarle; two sons, Mark Lee Barringer of Albemarle and Michael Wayne Barringer and wife, Terri Carpenter Barringer, of Rutherfordton; a daughter, Mitzi Barringer McGee and husband, Tom McGee, of High Point; grandchildren, Madison Leigh Barringer of Greensboro, Mason Wayne Barringer of Greensboro, T. J. McGee, Tanner McGee, Matthew Lee Barringer and Luke Barringer; and two sisters, Audine Page and Judy B. Smith, both of Albemarle. 

He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church and was retired from the Selmer Co of Monroe as plant manager. Mr. Barringer served in the US Army Reserves. 

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at Main Street UMC Fellowship Hall. Funeral service will be at Main Street United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Friday, March 13, with a one hour state. The Rev. Randy Powell and The Rev. Dolan Talbert will officiate. Interment will be at Mission Baptist Church Cemetery in Locust.

Memorials may be made to: Alzheimer's Association; and Main Street United Methodist Church, Stanly County Adult Day Care Fund.
