Christine Culp Ridenhour

Christine Culp Ridenhour, 84, of New London, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018 at her home.

Christine was born February 12, 1933 in Cabarrus County to the late George Adam Culp and the late Dore Frick Barringer Culp. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Charles Luther Ridenhour, who passed away in 1993; four half sisters, Ruth Morgan, May Ennis, Jenny Hall, and Mildred Isenhour; and son-in-law, Wayne Edwards.

The family will receive friends from 6 pm - 8 pm Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service to celebrate her life will be on Monday at 1pm in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Harold McDonald. She will be laid to rest at Richfield Cemetery. At other times the family will be gathering at her home.

She is survived by sons, Wayne Ridenhour and wife Regina of Richfield, Roger Ridenhour and wife Shirley of New London; daughters, Kaye Goodman and husband Robert of New London, Karen Edwards of New London; twin sister, Irene Troutman of Richfield; grandchildren, Crystal Ridenhour, Brian Goodman and wife Julie, Jr Ridenhour and wife Ashley, Greg Goodman and wife Jodie, Sonya Edwards and significant other Jonathan, Matthew Edwards and significant other Louise, Gerald Palmer, Britt Palmer and wife Connie; eight great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

Christine was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, and friend. She retired as custodian for the Stanly County School System. Christine kept her house immaculate, and took great joy and pride in her garden and yard. She also loved to cook and bake pies and cakes. She was accepting of everyone, and was loved by all who knew her.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly and the Uwharrie.
