Ann Wetmore Means

Mrs. Ann Wetmore Means, 42, of Rt. 1, Antioch Community, Mt. Airy, died in a local hospital early Saturday night, Dec. 7, after an illness of some six months.

The daughter of Clarence Heber and Leitha Peeler Wetmore, of Woodleaf, N.C., both of whom survive her, she was born July 3, 1932, in Summerset, Ky., she moved to this community from Woodleaf, N.C. to make her home some 12 years ago.

Mrs. Means was a teacher in the Clarkesville Elementary School, was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Toccoa, and was in charge of the nursery for two years prior to her last illness.

Survivors besides her parents include her husband, Joe Means of the home, three daughters, Miss Melanie Means, Miss Tammy Means and Miss Terri Means, all of the home, one son, Mike Means of the home, four sisters, Mrs. Ralph Dameron of Hixon, Tenn., Mrs. Johnny Agner and Mrs. Carl Bowers both of Woodleaf, N.C., and Miss Lynn Wetmore of Raleigh, N.C., her mother-in-law, Mrs. A.P. Means, of Toccoa, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. from the First Presbyterian Church in Toccoa with Rev. O.H. Lyon officiating.

Pallbearers were Perry Matheson, J.B. Hudgens Jr., Guy Pammell, Hoyt Powers, Bob Ballew and Wiley Winters.

Interment was in Stephens Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home.
