Nellie Whitley
Nellie Whitley, 95, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 at Trinity Place in Albemarle.
Born in Stanly County on October 13, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Alice Underwood Hinson and Alfred Hinson.
Mrs. Whitley was a homemaker and member of Randall United Methodist Church. She loved sewing, quilting, canning and looking after her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reather R. Whitley; great-grandson, Logan Dry and numerous brothers and sisters.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Betty Dry (Glenn) and Doris Shaver (Steve – deceased); grandsons, Malcolm Dry, Gene Dry, Jeremy Shaver, Eric Shaver; great-grandchildren, Leighton, Hailey and Alexis Dry and Luke, Charlie and Maggie Shaver, Skylan and Noa Claire Peoples.
Graveside Service: 11:00 AM Friday, April 13, 2018 at Randall United Methodist Church Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Alan Thompson.
