Margaret Beatrice "Bea" Harwood
Margaret Beatrice "Bea" Rinehart Harwood, 95, of Salisbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 with her daughter by her side at Trinity Oaks Health & Rehab in Salisbury, NC.
She was born April 25, 1923 in Rowan, NC to the late Soloman and Joetta Lyerly Rinehart. Bea was a Life long member of Grace Lowerstone Reformed Church where she had perfect attendance for many years. When she was able Bea was active in all aspects of the church, she was a past Sunday School Teacher, taught Bible School, and was a member of the Willing Workers Women's Guild. Bea was a lifetime member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary.
Bea was an avid Duke fan, she also enjoyed quilting, gardening and canning. After retiring from the China Grove Cotton Mill, Bea was a caregiver for many of her friends and neighbors.
In addition to her parents, Bea was preceded in death by her husband, Justice Jay Harwood; son, Donnie Wayne Harwood; grandson, Derek Todd Adams; brothers, Junior Rinehart and Bill Rinehart; sisters, Vernette Heilig, Elsie Peterson, Kathryn Trexler and Etta Mae Poole; and son-in-law, Clyde Adams.
Bea is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Adams of Granite Quarry; grandsons, Darren Clyde Adams (Lynn Barringer) of Rockwell, and Scott Harwood (Tammy Sasser) of Rockwell; granddaughters, Donna H. Blevins (Jeff) of Salisbury, and Marci H. Ward (Trent) of Salisbury; great-grandchildren, Chacity Earnhardt (Russell Lindsey), Brittany Harwood (Jonathan Earnhardt), Spencer Torres (Jackie), Curtis Ward, Casey Ward, Hunter Harwood, and Brandon Torres; 5 great great grandchildren and one on the way.
The family will greet friends and relatives on Friday, May 18, 2018, 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm at Grace Lower Stone Reformed Church, Rockwell, NC.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, May 18, 2018, in the Grace Lower Stone Reformed Church, Rockwell, NC, with former Pastor Rev. Jay Whitley, and Interim Pastor Brian Russell, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace Lower Stone Reformed Church.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Trinity Oaks Health & Rehab for their love, care and support during Bea's time there.
