Kathryn "Kat" Trexler

Kathryn "Kat" Rinehardt Trexler, 90, of Rockwell passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015, at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House. Mrs. Trexler was born on February 18, 1925 in Rowan County. She was the daughter of the late Solomon Bruner and Joetta Lyerly Rinehardt.

Mrs. Trexler was educated in the Rowan County Schools, retired from Cannon Mills Plant # 1, was a life long member of Grace Lower Stone Church where she was active in all phases of church work. Kat was known for her cooking, gardening and her rose bushes. She enjoyed quilting, puzzles, Duke Basketball, and keeping stats for her grand children's baseball games. She loved traveling with family and cooking for them.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Vern W. Trexler, Sr.; granddaughter, Mica Lea Hillard, and sisters, Elsie R. Peterson and Vernett R. Heilig; brothers, Bill Rinehardt and June Rinehardt.

Survivors include son, Vern "Bud" Trexler, Jr. and wife, Sherrie of Rockwell; daughters, Kay T. Wilson and husband, Danny of Rockwell and Connie T. Hillard and husband, Mick of Salisbury; sisters, Beatrice "Bea" Harwood of Rockwell and Etta Mae Poole of Rockwell; grandchildren, Dana Pickler and husband, Wayne; Jeffrey Trexler and wife, Angie and Kimberly Trexler; great grandchildren, Wil Holshouser, Sollie Holshouser, Lauren Trexler, Madison Trexler, Lexi Pickler and Graci Pickler.

Service: Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 16, 2015, at Grace Lower Stone Church conducted by Rev. Darryl E. Maxwell, Interim. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation: The family will be in the Fellowship Hall after the service and burial to receive friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace Lower Stone Church.
