Harold Reece Boettcher

ADVANCE, NC ~ Funeral services for Harold Reece Boettcher and his wife, Shirlie Hicks Boettcher, both of Justin Court, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Eaton Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Tom Maxie and the Rev. Bobby Biles officiating. Burial will be in Rose Cemetery.

The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 Wednesday evening.

They request that memorials be considered for mental-health research at Bowman Gray School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, Medical Center Blvd., Winston-Salem, NC 27157.

Mr. Beottcher was born May 28, 1947, in Davidson County, to Jenny Louise Biles and the late Reece William Boettcher and was a manufacturing technologist for Ingersol Rand Corp., with 25 years of service. He was a graduate of Davie County High School, Class of 1966, and a graduate of Rowan Technical Institute with certifications as a mechanical engineer. He enjoyed shagging, car shows, camping, all types of outdoor life, traveling to the North Carolina mountains and spending quality time with his family. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean conflict.

Surviving, in addition to his mother of Advance, are a daughter, Christie Boettcher of Mocksville; two stepdaughters, Sharon Bailey of Mocksville and Sherry Jordan of Seattle, Wash.; a stepson, Scott Jordan of Advance; and a brother, Jimmy Boettcher of Mocksville.

Mrs. and Mrs. Boettcher are both survived by five grandsons. They were both members of the Middle Cross Baptist Church.
