Waldo Hall Farlow

BURLINGTON - Mr. Waldo Hall Farlow, 85, of 1115 Old Glencoe Rd., died Sunday, October 12, 2008 at his home after several months of failing health.

Born in Guilford County, he was the son of the late William Hal Farlow and the late Gertie Lee Furr Farlow and was married for over 64 years to Mrs. Helen Horner Farlow, who survives.

He was a U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran and served in WWII in the B-29 Air Group in the Marianna Islands. He retired from Cummings Atlantic in Greensboro after 27 years service and was a member of Faith Bible Chapel, where he served as a former Deacon, Trustee, Sunday School Superintendent and congregational song leader. He was also a member of the Alamance Senior Golf Association.

Mr. Farlow is survived by his wife of the home; a daughter, Joni Snotherly and her husband, George, of Gibsonville; two sons, Hal Farlow of Gibsonville and Barry Farlow and his wife, Gayle, of Burlington; six grandchildren, Treva Farlow, Terri Hayes, Amanda Farlow, Lisa Farlow, Joseph Snotherly and Adam Snotherly; eight great grandchildren; two greatgreat-grandchildren; and a sister, Wyma Cole of Burlington.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Norma Lee Todd.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at Faith Bible Chapel by Rev. Mark Robertson. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
