Eula Mae “Polly” Fraley

FAITH - Eula Mae "Polly" Jackson Fraley, 89, of Faith, passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at her home.

Mrs. Fraley was born Oct. 10, 1920, in Rockingham County, a daughter of the late John Jackson and Sally Rickman Jackson Carter. Educated in the Rowan County School System, Polly retired from Cannon Mills Plant 1 after 35 years of service and then worked for Cartex for five years.

Polly was a member of Shiloh Reformed Church in Faith, a member of the Women's Bible Class, and was a member of the Faith American Legion Auxiliary.

In addition to her parents, Polly was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Welker Fraley Sr., on Nov. 15, 2002; sisters Grace Snider, Mabel Trent and Phyllis Holtz; and brother Dennis Jackson.

Survivors include son Harvey Fraley Jr. of Salisbury; daughters Louise F. Collins and husband Jack of Warrenton and Linda F. Fink and husband Alfred of Faith; brothers Harvey Lee Jackson of Salisbury, John Jackson of Faith, Bill Carter and Hugh Carter of Madison, Tyree Carter of Supply and Walter Carter and Ruben Carter of Madison; sisters Lorraine Jordan of New Jersey, Sarah Carter of Reidsville, Emma Amos of Madison, Betty Hubbard of Reidsville and Nanny Lindsey. Eleven grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren also survive.

Services: The funeral service will be held Sunday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. at Shiloh Reformed Church of Faith, conducted by Rev. Wayne Trexler, pastor. Mrs. Fraley will lie in-state for 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at Powles Funeral Home on Saturday December 5th from 4-6 PM.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shiloh Reformed Church, Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 308, Faith, NC 28041.
