Delaine Whitley Eudy

LOCUST -- Mrs. Eudy, 67, of 224 Locust Avenue, Locust, NC, died Saturday, July 19, 2008 at her home. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22nd at First Baptist Church, Dr. Kinney Wallace officiating. The body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family w ill receive friends on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland.

Born August 19, 1940 in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Alonzo Whitley and the late Mary Eudy Whitley Burleson . She was the Assistant Register of Deeds for the City of Albemarle, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Locust.

Survivors are her husband of 44 years who lovingly took care of her for 10 1/2 years after a major stroke, Norman Wayne Eudy; daughters and sons-in-law, Kim Eudy Lambert and Sid of Locust, and Kerri Eudy Fraley and Todd of Oakboro, NC; grandchildren, Seth, Josh and Elizabeth Lambert, Corey, Taylor and Camden Fraley; sisters, Bessie Hill of Albemarle, Carolyn Furr and husband Jan, and Lynda Almond and husband Larry, all of Locust; brothers, Floyd Whitley of Albemarle, NC, and Vance Whitley and wife Betty of Oakboro, N C.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Wayne Burleson, sister, Auta Belle Clark, and brothers, Vernon Whitley, Craven Whitley, and Wade Whitley.

The family will meet at her home.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all of those who helped with Delaine during the past 10 years of her life.

Memorials are requested to First Baptist Church of Locust, Building Fund.
