The target was Münster and the B-17 was “Shackrat” (42-30087).
The 351st squadron joined the 100th Bomb Group on 9 June 1943. On their 10th mission on Oct 10 they were leading the 2nd flight when the plane crashed from flak damage. All of the crew were killed except the co-pilot and the left-waist-gunner who became POW’s. All those killed were buried 13 Oct 1943.
