Tuesday, March 13, 2007 -- Glenn Tyson Huneycutt, 85 of 113 Merrifield Drive, Locust, died at 6:30 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2007, in Stanly Manor. His funeral will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday with a 30-minute state in Philadelphia Baptist Church where he was a member. The Rev. Dwight Mabry will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Born March 25, 1921, in Stanly County, he was a son of the late Willie Clifton "Tip" and Lydia Mae Osborne Huneycutt and was employed for 45 year in the finishing department of Cannon Mills. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, J.C. Huneycutt and Ernest Huneycutt.

He is survived by his wife, Billie; a son, Bobby T. Huneycutt and wife, Georgia, of Albquerque, N.M.; two daughters, Karen Huneycutt Hartsell and husband, Rusty, of Locust, and Glendel Huneycutt of Minneapolis, Minn.; a sister, Margie Huneycutt of Oakboro; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. At other times they will meet at his home.
