Lois Hatley

Ellen Lois Hatley, 82 years of age, of Locust, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Clear Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Mint Hill.

Mrs. Hatley was born June 27, 1932 in Stanly County to the late Sandy Lester Hartsell and the late Bessie Mae Page Hartsell. She was also preceded in death by husband, John Henry Hatley; and her brothers, Arnold and Everette Hartsell.

Lois was a member of Locust Presbyterian and the Women's Auxiliary of Locust Volunteer Fire Department as long as her health allowed. She enjoyed crafts and making things for her family.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm, Friday, April 17, 2015 at Locust Presbyterian Church at 607 West Main Street, Locust. The funeral service will be on Friday at 5:00 pm in the church sanctuary officiated by Rev. Douglas Van Niel. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her son, John Milton Hatley and his wife, Ronee of Galivants Ferry, SC; daughter, Theresa Troutman and her husband, Tommy of Locust, Cindy Yow and her husband, Ted of Stanfield, and Tammy Hatley of Charlotte; grandchildren, Joe Troutman and wife, Brandy of Oakboro, Sara Litman and husband, Shane of Locust, Bradley Yow and wife, Kimberly of Stanfield, Emily Shaw and husband, Steven of Stanfield, Garrett Griffin and wife Katie of Mint Hill, Jonathan Hatley and wife, Lacey of Conway, SC; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Estelle Austin of Charlotte.
