Judy McCombs Davis

FAITH - Judith "Judy" McCombs-Davis, 69, died Sunday, July 18, 2004, at Meadows Retirement Center, Rockwell.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Shiloh United Church of Christ, Faith, where she was a member, by the Revs. Priscilla Causey, interian pastor, and Lawrence Bolick, former pastor. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. McCombs-Davis was born in Rowan County on Dec. 15, 1934, to Hazel Griffith Julian and Ernest E. Julian. She was educated in Faith and Granite Quarry High School and attended Rowan Cabarrus Community College. She retired from Food Lion in the accounting department in 1999. She was former manager of Crickets Clothing and co-owner of Bryants Market. She was a member of the Women's Guild, senior choir and Shiloh Seniors at her church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Bryant McCombs, who died Aug. 2, 1984; and a grandchild, Richard Tyler Regan.

Surviving are her husband, James W. Davis, whom she married in 1998; two sons, Randy B. McCombs of Rockwell and J. Scott McCombs of Salisbury; one daughter, Andrea M. Regan of Lexington; six grandchildren, Heath McCombs and Deidre Stewart, both of Rockwell, Josh Regan and Jordan Regan, both of Lexington, Nicole McCombs of Bopp, Md., and Falon Vance McCombs of Raleigh; three great-grandchildren, Bryant Stewart, Brock Stewart and Nathan Regan; and two sisters, Gwen Julian Goodman and Sue Julian Lentz, both of Salisbury.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8:30 at Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell, and other times at the home of Mrs. Davis in Faith.
