Mildred "Pauline" Furr Almond
LOCUST - Mildred "Pauline" Furr Almond, 84, of 12066 Oscar Road, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at CMC-NorthEast. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church, Locust, with Elder Eddie Fowler, Elder Charles Smith and the Rev. Harold Davis officiating. The body will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Mrs. Almond was born Aug. 28, 1923, in Cabarrus County the daughter of the late Charlie Lee Furr and the late Julia Elvi (Simmons) Furr. Mrs. Almond had been employed at Fun-tees as an Inspector. She was a member of Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson, Nathan Almond.
Survivors include her husband, Hubert Lee Almond of the home; son, Gary Almond and wife, Mattie, of Concord; sisters, Ruth Green and Elma Eudy both of Locust; brothers, Robert Furr and David Furr both of Concord; grandchildren, Aaron and Ashley Almond.
