Agnes Lucille Dry

Agnes Lucille Dry, 74, of Gold Hill, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC surrounded by family. She was born on May 13, 1942 in Rowan County to the late Charlie Lee Hill and Emma Stoner Hill.

Agnes was of the Methodist faith and worked at numerous companies including Cannon Mills, Granite Knitwear, and Perfect Fit. Her last career was as a CNA working with individuals in the nursing homes, which she loved to help people. Agnes was always working in her garden and she was known for her giant cabbages and tomatoes. She enjoyed canning her vegetables, listening to Elvis, and making wine and salsa for her friends and family. Agnes also enjoyed going to the beach with her family.

In addition to her parents, Agnes was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Dry; two brothers, Raymond Hill and Alvin Hill.

Agnes is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bobby Dry; a daughter, Angie Dry and companion Kenneth Brogdon of Salisbury; two sisters, Rachel Fesperman of Salisbury, Doris Morgan of VA; a brother, Johnny Hill and wife Mildred of Sailsbury; grandchildren, Kimberly Dry, Jason Dry and companion Julie Kirby, Amber Dry Norton, Crystal James, Billy Mishak, and Robert Mishak; and great grandchildren, Juliana Dry, Hunter Lingle, Stephanie Trexler, Kayla Hatley, Dylan Mishak, Riley Mishak, and Hayden Mishak.

A Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2017, from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home, Rockwell, NC.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at 11:00 am at Liberty United Methodist Church, Gold Hill, NC, conducted by Pastor Charlie Curtis. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty United Methodist Church or to St. Stephens Lutheran Church.
