Rachel Lunda Hill Fesperman

Rachel Lunda Hill Fesperman, 87, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021.

She was born August 20, 1933, in Rowan County, to the late Charlie and Emma Stoner Hill. Mrs. Fesperman attended Rowan County Schools and worked as a seamstress at Carolina Maid and retired from Century Place. She was a lifelong member of Liberty United Methodist Church in Gold Hill where previously she served as a youth leader with her husband and also enjoyed traveling with the senior groups. Mrs. Fesperman was instrumental in starting the church's pre-school in 1994. She was a talented seamstress who enjoyed sewing, baking, canning, and making homemade mints. She also enjoyed traveling to the beach, craft shows, gardening, fishing, and riding four wheelers.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fesperman was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Fesperman; brothers, Alvin Hill, Dewey Hill, and Raymond Hill; and sister Agnes Dry.

She is survived by her daughters, Betty Barringer and husband, John, of Salisbury, Kathy Hodgson of Salisbury, and Karen Kesler and husband, Ronnie, of Gold Hill; brother, John Hill of Salisbury; sister, Doris Morgan of Bethesda, VA; grandchildren, Amanda Wagner, Melissa Barringer, Travis Kesler, Jessica Kesler, and Jennifer Hodgson; and great-grandchildren, Courtney, Bryson, and Erica Wagner, Brynlee Hashemzadeh, and Everly Kesler.

The family will greet friends and relatives from 11:00 to 11:45 AM on Monday, April 19, at Liberty United Methodist Church in Gold Hill.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, in Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Charles Curtis officiating.

For those attending the visitation and service, it is asked that you please maintain social distancing recommendations and wear a face mask.
