Ray Claton Troutman

Ray Claton Troutman, age 95, passed from his earthly life to his eternal life on Dec. 14, 2015, at Adams Farm Living and Rehabilitation under care of family and staff of Adams Farm.

Born Oct. 14, 1920, in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Love Monroe Troutman and Lillie Eagle Troutman. He was a 1938 graduate of Boyden High School, attended N.C. State University, Catawba College and graduated with a degree in business administration from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1950.

He was married to Geraldine Mackie for 44 years. She preceded him in death, as did infant child Elizabeth Ann Troutman.

Ray was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Winston-Salem. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Army Air Force. His employment after service was with Southern Bell Telephone Company as an engineer. His hobby was reading and collecting religious books and antique checks.

He is survived by his nieces, Patricia Little and husband Cecil Little of Jamestown and Pamela Dudley of Charlotte; three great-nieces; one great-nephew; eight great-great-nieces and nephews; and three great-great-great-nieces.

Arrangements: Funeral Services will be conducted at First Baptist Church, 501 W Fifth St., in Winston-Salem, Dec. 17 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel. The Service will be officiated by the Rev. Emily Hull McGee. The family will receive friends for a visitation one hour prior to the service in the Brown Room.

Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Interment will be at Harmony Grove Church Cemetery in Yadkinville.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Baptist Church of Winston-Salem.
