Lonie Troutman Jones

Lonie Troutman Jones, passed on to her Eternal Life on February 24, 2015 at Brighton Gardens of Greensboro under the care of United Hospice and the love of her family.

Born March 18, 1923 in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Love Monroe Troutman and Lillie Eagle Troutman.

She was a 1940 graduate of Boyden High School, Salisbury.

Lonie was first of all a devoted wife, mother and grandmother but also enjoyed time spent in her beloved NC mountains at Chetola as well as family boating and beach trips. She loved flowers and kept a beautiful yard.

She was a long time member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Charlotte, NC

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Berry E. Jones.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Patricia Little and husband Cecil of Jamestown, NC, and Pamela J. Dudley of Charlotte, NC; brother, Ray C. Troutman of Winston-Salem, NC; granddaughters, Angela L. Fulp and husband Gary of Jamestown, NC, Amy R. Rush and husband Ken of Colfax, NC, April Newman of Charlotte, NC; grandson, Brian Dudley and wife Heather of Lancaster, SC; great-grandchildren, Ashley Jones and husband Sean, Chelsea Hockaday and husband Chad, Caitlyn Stogner and husband Nick, Bryce Rush, Tristan Dudley, Taylor Dudley, Kaleb Brown, Hannah Heim, Emily Newman; great great-granddaughters, Elizabeth, Ava and Abigail Jones.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Saturday (Feb. 28) at the Summersett Funeral Home, 1315 W. Innes St., Salisbury, NC.

Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM – Saturday with the Rev. Dr. Jay D. Smith, minister of Jamestown Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Rowan Memorial Park, weather permitting.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 101 Colville Rd., Charlotte, NC 28207.
