Dennis Carroll Poplin

Dennis Carroll Poplin, 51, of 40086 Pauls Crossing Road, Albemarle, died at 11:07 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, in Stanly Regional Medical Center.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday with a 30-minute state in Paul’s Crossing Church, Richfield, where he was a member. The Rev. Jesse Dennis and The Rev. Mark Little will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Born June 9, 1956, in Rowan County, he was a son of Kathleen Louise Morris Poplin of Richfield and the late James Arthur Poplin and was a self-employed farmer. His wife, Pattie Barbee Poplin, and a son, Jason Poplin, also preceded him in death.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Adam Poplin and Brittany Pinkston of Richfield; two daughters, Melissa Poplin Elberson and husband, Matt, of Albemarle and Brooke Poplin Shank and husband, Tommy, of Richfield; five grandchildren, Ashley Poplin, Summer Poplin, Hanna Elberson, Teagan Poplin and Hugh Shank; two brothers, Lynn Poplin of Richfield and Chris Poplin of New London; and two sisters, Brenda Efird of Richfield and Karen Herlocker of New London.

The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hartsell Funeral Home. At other times they met at his home.

Memorials may be made to Paul’s Crossing Baptist Church, 40461 Paul’s Crossing Road, Richfield, NC.
