Thomas Hartwell James
Darlington, Feb. 24. - Thomas Hartwell James, 77, of Darlington died last night in Charlotte at the home of his daughter. Mrs. W. A. Worrell. He had been on a visit there for the last several weeks. Mr. James was born and reared near Albemarle, N. C. and spent the early part of his life in North Carolina. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Langley James.
He had been married twice, his first wife having been Miss Mary Frances Chandler and his second wife was Mrs. Lemon James, both preceding him to the grave.
Mr. James is survived by the following children by his first marriage: J.M. James, Rockingham; W.M. James, Chester; T.S. James, Darlington; S.C. James, Lancaster; Miss Lola James, Charlotte; and Mrs. Worrell of Charlotte. Surviving also are the following brothers and sisters: Bill James, Starr, N.C.; Mrs. Mitt Blackman of Darlington; Charlie James, Joe James, Charlotte; Mallory James, Marshville, N.C.; Harvey James, Bennettsville; 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11 o'clock at Swift Creek Baptist Church in Darlington County.

Darlington, Feb. 24. - Thomas Hartwell James, 77, of Darlington died last night in Charlotte at the home of his daughter. Mrs. W. A. Worrell. He had been on a visit there for the last several weeks.
