SALISBURY - Jerry Michael Fesperman, 65, of Salisbury, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, at Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation of Salisbury following a period of declining health.
Jerry was born Dec. 26, 1951, in Rowan County, a son of the late Raymond George Harvey Fesperman and Margie Alberta Carter Fesperman. He was a member of Rock Grove United Methodist Church. As long as his health permitted he was a brick mason, retiring in 2014.
Jerry was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a loving husband, father and "Pop". He will certainly be missed by his family and his friends.
Per Jerry's request his body has been donated to science for research.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 15, at Rock Grove United Methodist Church, 1050 Rock Grove Church Rd., Salisbury, NC 28146, conducted by the Rev. Brian Crady. The family will receive friends at the church, one hour prior to the memorial service.
Family members left to cherish his memory are his wife of 33 years, Stephanie Lambert Fesperman of the home; one son, Stephen Michael Chapman (Gina) of Durham; daughter, Tonda Chapman Williams (Mark) of China Grove; grandsons, Stephen Sechler and Blake Sechler (Shania); granddaughters, Lara Chapman (Bryce) and Autumn Williams; and great-granddaughter, Kaley Sechler. He also has a loving sister, Dianne Fesperman Hill of Salisbury; and a brother-in-law, Paul Hill Sr. whom is like a brother to Jerry; two brothers, Wayne Fesperman (Dolly) of California, Harold Fesperman of China Grove, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, Western North Carolina Chapter, 4600 Park Rd #250, Charlotte, NC.
Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the family of Mr. Fesperman.
