Charles Thomas “Tommy” Lefler
Charles Thomas “Tommy” Lefler, 77, of Rockwell, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center in Salisbury. He was born in Rowan County on December 2, 1940 to the late Lillie Wyatt Lefler and the late Charlie Bowers Lefler.
Mr. Lefler graduated from Rockwell High School. He retired from Duke Energy where he worked in the Meter Department for 30 years. Mr. Lefler was a past member of Faith Civitan and Spencer Moose Lodge. He was a Lifetime member of Lyerly Evangelical Church, where he served as Treasurer, Church Council and Usher. His greatest joy was his Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. He was the owner of Tommy’s Auto Sales for several years, enjoyed eating with Family and Friends, riding his golf cart, and was a little league baseball coach for the Rockwell Cubs, but he was his happiest playing jokes on others. Mr. Lefler is survived by his wife, Joyce Eller Lefler who he married on July 29, 1962, his daughter, Joellen Misenheimer (Chuck) of Salisbury, sons Johnny Lefler (Diane) of Rockwell, Jody Lefler (April) of Rockwell, Grandchildren, Samantha Bost (Holland), Dianelle Stiltner (Danny), Brittani Dreer (Dylan), Jordanna Belk (Justin), Dylan Lefler, Dalton Lefler, and Great-grandchildren, Brady Bost and Baylor Bost. Mr. Lefler is preceded in death by his Great Granddaughter, Emma Rae Misenheimer A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at 2 PM at the First Reformed Church in Landis with the Reverend David Franks officiating. Visitation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to be made to Victory Junction Gang Camp, 4500 Adams Way, Randleman, NC. Lyerly Funeral Home is serving the Lefler family.
