Richard Dale Stevens

Richard D. Stevens, age 65 of Loudon, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013.

Mr. Stevens was a veteran serving in the US Army during the Viet Nam War. For many years he served the Loudon community as a self employed Plumber. He was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 102. He was active with the VFW Huff Post 5150 and the Ivo Sanders American legion Post 120 having served as Past Commander of both posts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Lola Mae (Null) Stevens, son, Richard D. Stevens, Jr. and brother, Bobby Jo Stevens.

He is survived by his daughters, Candace Bechtel and husband, Brian, and Amanda Howard, all of Knoxville; grandchildren, R.J. Stevens, Chaiden Stevens, Amber Howard, Shelby and Jensen Bechtel; brothers and sister in-law, John and Mary Jo Stevens, Loudon, Sam Stevens, Lenoir City; sisters and brother in-law, Devonna and Tom Esslinger, and Kay Stevens, all of Mississippi; sister in-law, Faye Stevens; faithful companion, Lucy and a multitude of friends.

Services honoring and remembering Richard will be held 5:00 PM Saturday, March 30th, at the Huff VFW Post 5150, 101 Maremont Parkway, Loudon with military honors provided by the Loudon County Veteran Honor Guard. A time of sharing and fellowship will follow until 8:00 PM.

Contributions in memory of Richard may be made to the Toys for Tots c/o VFW Post 5150, P.O Box 285, Loudon, TN.
