Norman L. Hearne
Norman L. Hearne of Carrington Place in Matthews, NC (formerly of Albemarle, NC) passed away December 17, 2014. His funeral service will be 12 Noon on Monday December 22, 2014 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeremy Holt officiating. Burial will follow in the Plyler Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home from 10:30 until 11:30 prior to the funeral service.
Mr. Hearne was born in Stanly County, April 12, 1917 to the late Joel A. Hearne and Jennie Morgan Hearne. He retired from Collins and Aikman and was an avid gardener and loved to give friends and neighbors goods from his garden that he was always so proud of. He also loved working on lawnmowers for friends and neighbors.
He is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Macie Lomax Hearne of Matthews, daughter Kay Gaddy of Matthews, Grandson and wife Todd and Gail Gaddy of Mint Hill and two great granddaughters, Amanda and Jennifer Gaddy also of Mint Hill, NC; one sister Edith H. Briggs of Gloucaster, VA.; two sisters-in-law, Marjorie Hearne of McLean, VA and Virginia Hearne of Carmichael, CA and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers; Larry, Grady, Robert, John and Harold and one sister Novella Roberson. He was also predeceased by a special son-in-law Bill Gaddy.
